Soccer

Great teamwork is what makes the soccer program at GHS tick. That and a loyal, enthusiastic group of  parents and fans who help make this a great environment for team sports.

The boys and girls teams regularly make the division playoffs, and their coaching staffs emphasize strength and conditioning to give players an edge in competition.

Boys

Coach: Taylor Goode
Asst. Coach: Reiv Wood

Boys in grades 9-12 may try out in the spring for positions on the varsity and junior varsity team. The coach likes to pack the boys’ schedule with as many games as they’re allowed to play to give athletes the most opportunities to compete. Practices are 4th block and after school seasonally from October through January.

Girls

Coach: Chris Miller
Asst. Coach: Tianna Castillo

Girls in grades 9-12 may try out in the spring for positions on the varsity and junior varsity team. Coach Miller has been with the soccer program at Grenada for 20 years. He emphasizes good sportsmanship and knowledge of the game. “It’s more than the points,” he says. “The girls should have fun, learn the game, and enjoy playing together.” The team trains during the summer, working on weights and conditioning to stay fit. During the season (October to January), athletes practice 4th block and after school.
