The Girls Powerlifting program at GHS offers strength training — both mentally and physically. Mental strength is the core component. A strong, disciplined mind can lead to a strong body.

Girls in grade 9-12 who would like to be a part of our program should have a zeal and determination for becoming physically fit and strong. The focus of this program is weight training three times a week. We practice early, before school at 6:45 a.m., so come prepared to work and get energized to meet the day. 

We also workout in the summer, focusing on agility, strength-training, and kinesthetics. Our core lifts are the squat, bench press, and deadlift. 

Our season begins in October and ends in April. We compete at the local level and then advance to compete at the state level.
