Basketball (Girls)

Coach: Kendrick Conley
Assistant Coach: Centeria Lott

Coach Kendrick Conley began coaching the Lady Chargers basketball team in 2021. It was a rebuilding year, and he put a renewed focus on strength-building, speed, and conditioning. The team worked hard — practicing early before school, lifting weights after school and studying film — until they improved into a much stronger, faster, mentally prepared team.

“Actually, we don’t look at it as a team,” Coach Conley says. “We look at it as a family. We learn together, we grow together, and we take care of each other.”

The girls ended their 2021-22 season — their first in the notoriously tough 6A division — with a winning record of 16-8. The coach looks to improve on that record in 2022-23.

Girls entering grades 9-12 may try out in May for a position on the varsity or junior varsity team. Practice is 4th block and before and/or after school seasonally. There will also be a summer boot camp in the off-season.

The Lady Chargers play roughly 22-24 games a season from November to February.
