Welcome to the GHS Library!
At the GHS Library, the librarian assists students in information and research skills and promotes the love of reading. The librarian collaborates with faculty and students while utilizing a collection development plan to provide appropriate books for students reading and interest levels.
The extensive and growing collection includes a plethora of print books, eBooks, and audiobooks for students and teachers. This collection also includes professional resources for educators.
The library utilizes databases to meet research and creative needs. These databases include Britannica School Encyclopedia, Destiny Discover online catalog, and Magnolia Databases.
Library Mission:
The mission of the GHS Library Media Program is to make sure our students are prepared to meet the challenges of the future, develop critical-thinking skills, and strive to be lifelong learners by providing information in a variety of formats and encouraging students to explore and create.
Personal Mission:
As a teacher-librarian, I believe in order to become a lifelong learner you must enjoy exploring new concepts that you are unfamiliar with. Teaching students how to recognize which sources are more trustworthy by looking at publication dates, checking the cross references, and determining if they are peer-reviewed will help students with their critical thinking skills and prepare them for future information exploration.
