Dual Enrollment/Credit
Policies and Procedures

Eligibility

Students must meet the following requirements:

  • Junior status
  • 3.0 GPA
  • ACT subscore of 17 English and 19 Math for required courses

Enrollment

Students could be enrolled in college courses taught at the high school, online, or at the Holmes Community College Grenada campus. The course selections will be discussed with the student and counselor when making schedules. If a student does not have the ACT subscores they are able to take the Accuplacer test at Holmes Community College. Students may not take the Accuplacer test more than twice per semester.

Tuition & Fees

All tuition and fees will be paid by Grenada High School during the fall and spring semesters for courses taught at Grenada High School or online. If a student receives a W, D, or F in a course, they are responsible for the balance for that course. Payment for courses taken at Holmes Community College Grenada must be approved by the appropriate administrator. Students who choose to take summer courses are responsible for that balance.

Student Responsibility (Online Courses)

It is the responsibility of the student to check in with Dr. Cox every two weeks. During the check-in, students will provide grades and check attendance.

Probation

A student will be placed on probation if they earn a GPA below a 2.5, fail a course, or are dropped from a course. A student on probation is required to attend weekly check-ins with Dr. Cox. If a student does not finish the following semester with a GPA higher than a 2.5, fails another course, or is dropped from another course, the student will be ineligible for Dual Credit courses the next semester.
